Employee Relations Manager, BHP Transport and Logistics

BHP T&L operated a fleet of bulk carrier ships transporting BHP raw material all over the world.

Carriage of all operations matters for the 700 seagoing personnel on BHP ships and for the shore based Marine business.

Union Movement

1989 – 1995

National Industrial Officer, Community and Public Sector Union

The CPSU had a membership of approximately 120,000 members. I operated in the Commonwealth Public Service representing blue collar, clerical and professional employees across a diverse range of Commonwealth Departments such as Defence, Laboratories, Social Security and Ministerial Offices.

This was an enormous role with a large amount of responsibility.
